Not entirely true to the book. In particular, the ending probably still makes Herbert roll over in his grave every time it is broadcast. Still, it was good enough that seeing it inspired me to read the books, some of the first SF I was exposed to, so it will always have a place in my video library.

Although we often read plays in book form, they were originally written to be performed, and are more akin to screenplays than novels. Should movies based on plays (for example, Shakespeare's Tempest) be included in this list?
